IN OUT Festival 2009 is an open form searching for all what is the most interesting in contemporary video art. The Festival is created to be sort of a radar and, therefore, no particular topic was given to the participating artists. In principle, the art should not be illustrating the theoretical ideas and academic thesis but it should be the one to foreseen new trends, to initiate them, or to dialog with them. We hope that the variety of festival entries will be a challenge for us as we have to properly put them into theoretical frames based on the projects we receive. We hope that through the variety of projects we would be able to get to the newest, not yet defined artistic pieces, most likely influenced by the geographical and cultural contexts. We will be looking for the references and creative explanations or totally new propositions regarding the pieces already presented by the pioneers of experimental films and video art. The Festival will be the closing event of the Summer Film Workshops.

Jan Kozłowski, the Marshal of Pomeranian Voivodeship is the Honorary patron of the project.

The awards in 3rd IN OUT Festival are founded by the Marshal of Pomeranian Voivodeship, Jan Kozłowski.

The project is supported by Ministry of Culture and National Heritage within the framework of Cultural education and popularization programme.
