2014 - SenzArt Call for Applications

The National Museum of Contemporary Art Romania and Friends of MNAC Association in partnership with Orange Foundation Romania are pleased to announce the opening of SenzArt call for applications.
SenzArt is dedicated to those suffering from visual and hearing impairment and wishes to promote to the general public the possibilities of contemporary art for communicating its messages on so many different levels of perception and with such a variety of means of expression, actively acting as a facilitator for communication.

 



A number of 4 projects of interactive contemporary art will be selected for production with an allocated budget of 5,000 EUR each.

The call is open for artists aged 18 to 45 and puts a strong emphasis on interactivity and the use of new digital technologies.

The final works will be the exclusive property of Orange Romania Foundation (3 works) and of the National Museum of Contemporary Art (1 work) and will be exhibited nationally and internationally, with a first exhibition to be held on MNAC’s premises (June-November 2014). A series of workshops for visual and hearing impaired persons will be held on this occasion.

 



CALENDAR OF ACTIONS:

Due date for applications: 30th of March 2014
Announcing the results: 10th of April 2014
Projects production: 15th of April – 15th of May 2014

 
REQUIREMENTS:

Submitted projects must consider interactivity
Submitted  projects should also make use of the new digital technologies
Final works should not exceed following dimensions: height - 2,5m, length - 20m, depth - 2,5m
Final works should provide reasonable maneuverability

Upon completion the artist will provide a specific Guide for handle and care


EVALUATION CRITERIA:

Quality and originality of the project – 20 pts.
Relevance to SenzArt’s declared goals – 30 pts.
Feasibility of the project, based on the artist’s experience and competences – 30 pts.
Budget (cost efficiency) – 20 pts.
