Kul Julia
Julia Kul (1983) conceptual artist and performer. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk and Parsons the New School in New York. 2010 Fulbright Scholar and resident of Jan Van Eyck Academy 2013-14. Her works were shown at the Moving Image Art Fair (NYC), the Postmasters Gallery (NYC), the Sakip Sabanci Museum and the Kasa Galeri (Istanbul), Europea Photography 2012 (Italy), the Istitute for Art Wyspa (GD) and the 6th Young Triennial in Orensk. In her often ironic works Kul investigates the ambiguity and oppression of socio-cultural norms. In recent years Kul focused on the analysis of corrupted linguistic tendencies and semiotics of everyday life.
