AMBER DROPS

Amber Drops installation by Fred Hatt and Daniel Schlaepfer is a part of The Outdoor Gallery Of The City Of Gdansk realized in Lower Town district by Laznia CCA. Amber Drops is an installation of yellow translucent pebbles made of epoxy resin with a built in led lighting system. The glow of ambers varies in time and rhythm like the breathing of a person.

The artwork was realized in the spring of 2012 as a permanent site-specific installation in the space of the Lower Town district under the flyover by Szopy Street. Pulsating lights of the amber stones and their reflections in the mirror-like surface of Invisible Gate by Front Studio group will make an impression that the whole space is alive and breathing.

Installation is a part of LED project realized by the City of Gdańsk.

REMONT POMP and MIKOŁAJ TRZASKA

Remont Pomp is playing ethnic, avant-garde and improvised music. Remont Pomp came into existence in 2004 by Polish Association for Mentally Disabled People Koło in Gdańsk. People with metal disabilities, volunteers from European programme EVS and musicians cooperating with the association create music together. The main inspiration for the group is ethnic, mainly African, music. For a while, however, the band has been looking for the new sounds by playing on objects usually not associated with music. For example can serve compositions played of tables and barrels. In 2011 Remont Pomp invited Mikołaj Trzaska for music workshops in Laznia CCA, what resulted in longer cooperation, concerts as well as record Złota Platyna (Golden Platinum) in Kilogram Records. At the 27th of June musicians are performing together in the area of Amber Drops installation.

TURNING CHAOS INTO CREATION

Visualisation show prepared by students of the 5th grade in 65 Primary School in Gdansk during education workshops in Laznia CCA. Children worked on paintings with no limits and no control: splashing, scratching, painting with their hands. The next step was finding in this chaos different forms, creatures, and situations. That’s how the new world of meanings, imaginations, and creativity came into being from the world of chaos. Visualisation will be accompanied the Remont Pomp and Mikołaj Trzaska concert.
