This video and animation programme brings to Laznia a series of award winning documentary and experimental films, video and moving image works straight from the shores of Hong Kong. Works will examine an array of issues that are focused around Hong Kong’s mixed culture and colonial history, those ranging from migration, personal histories, political climate and economy, to reportage and the mainstream media. Their works are the creative imagination inspired by the actual life. It is a twist of the reality, and something to wistful in life. They question the city with their works. It is come out from a mixture of love and hate, familiar and foreignness. What will be evident from this programme is the uncompromised dedication to professionalism and the international perspective of film and video makers working in Hong Kong today.  

Ying Kwok is the curator at Chinese Arts Centre since 2006. She provides artistic leadership and vision for the centre, and curate most of the exhibition programme. Kwok also works as a consultant for various art organization nationally and internationally.
