The exhibition was a summary of the election campaign of Wiktoria Cukt. Within the action Wiktoria Cukt’s Campaign, launched during Negotiators of Art in Laznia Centre for Contemporary Art, C.U.K.T. prepared a computer program whose interface was the virtual personality called Wiktoria Cukt. The presentation in Laznia concluded Wiktoria’s year-long election campaign. The Civic Election Software functioned as an open-source program on the Internet – its users could shape the beliefs and coedit the statements of Wiktoria. The project’s authors looked for practical answers to the following questions: To what extent does the continuously disseminating access to the network and the interactive space of the Internet provide an alternative for the contemporary reality of the media? To what extent does the artistic presence on the Internet and in cyberspace give a chance to share the values of local cultures, and to what extent is it subject to the influence of the dominating cultures and globalisation?
