LAZNIA 1 1999 - Grzegorz Klaman ANATROPHY
08.04-16.05.1999
Curator: Bożena Czubak
The presentation of Grzegorz Klaman’s works inspired a discussion on the ways in which images of the body function within the contemporary visual culture. In the Sari series, realised during his stay in India, the artist, using traditional Indian women’s costumes, drew our attention to the practices of fitting the body into the relations of the cultural and social dependence, a phenomenon shared by Western and Eastern culture. In the Beckett/Implants project, situated between visual arts and theatrical art, he approached the issue of the possibilities of creating the imagination of the body by the media.
