Within the framework of the Outdoor Gallery of The City of Gdansk project we organise a series of music events realized in the open space of the Lower Town, in untypical locations, outside the gallery walls. We invite musicians representing alternative, electronic and avant-garde scene, whose performances will interest both the local citizes as well as the guests from other parts of Gdansk or visitors.
We intend to create places aimed at stimulating encounters of the local community, citizens of Gdansk and guests visiting the city in the summer season. The project’s aim is to break the barriers and to introduce the district as a friendly, attractive place with multiple cultural events to offer. We want to make this space alive with live music in the summer season.

∑BOL▲ ▲P∑ i san audio-visual Project created by a gorilla named Ebo. His music is mainly based on delicate samples, strongly processed vocal parts and smoothing synthesizer sounds as a floating mist. It’s a stylistic collage of genres. Ebola’s inspirations are so broad that it is difficult to pigeon-hole his music. He is compared to such artists as Burial, oOoOO or Holy Other. During his Laznia performance ∑BOL▲ ▲P∑ will present his latest compositions using a sampler and Midi controller.
THE SHIPYARD
19 July, 8pm
The Shipyard is an ensemble of talented alternative musicians that have collaborated with numerous Polish bands over the years. All of them are fascinated with the Gdansk Shipyard – hence the name. “We Will Sea” – band’s debut album received very good reviews and put the band on a position of one of the most exciting new Polish bands. The Shipyard moves between classic cold wave alienation, a reverberating melancholy reminiscent of shoegaze, and heavier alt rock. They played numerous hyper energetic gigs in clubs and festivals (Off Festival 2012 in Katowice and more).
Within the LOWER TOWN LIVE they will play an acoustic concert.
THE SUNLIT EARTH
26 July, 8pm
The Sunlit Earth come from the coldest town in Poland – Giżycko. The group was formed by four ambitious students inspired by 70s and 80s music and contemporary independent scene. Despite their relatively short experience, they have already won acclaim at local music competitions and played alongside important Polish bands. In August 2012 they played a gig in Kassel, Germany, as part of the Temporary Home project.Their first EP, There's Something in the Air, was released by Nasiono Records in 2013. During their concert in the Lower Town they will play an acoustic set.
ENCHANTED HUNTERS
9 August, 8pm
Enchanted Hunters are a polish band founded by Margaret Penkalla, and includes Magdalena Gajdzica and Patrick Zieliniewicz. There are elements of dream-pop, dream-folk and Americana in their sound. At first glance, you are dominated by female element in the band: the girl’s voice, soft tones of the flute and cymbals with dreamy jazzy chords. They create a nostalgic atmosphere, and break out into psychedelic sound with references to American indie rock of the ’90s. An important aspect of the Enchanted Hunters are their live performances, these are warmly received by each audience and they play in the most unusual places.
BNNT Sound Bombing
20 - 21 August, start: Dolne Miasto, Gdańsk
A product of the Poznań alternative music scene known as Pink Punk, the group is considered its most interesting product. Alongside Konrad Smoleński playing an instrument called the ‘baritone missile’, which looks like a small-scale missile with strings, the group includes Daniel Szwed playing the drums. The disguised artists play not only in venues related to art, but also sometimes ‘attack’ in the street, performing straight from a car. BNNT’s concerts, during which music is accompanied by a special stage design, suggest a captivating ritual being performed by a mysterious cult characterised by pure energy and the unrestrained power of sound.
