LAZNIA 1 2010 - GREEN ARCHITECTURE IN GDANSK

Vortal Sztuka-Architektury.pl, “Laznia” CCA, Buro Happold, Velux Polska, Procad and Qbiss by Trimo would like to invite architects from Gdansk to a free training course which will take place in Gdansk on 25th May 2010 in “Laznia” Centre for Contemporary Art.
This unique training course, held in Poland for the first time, describes the rules of architectural design, which are compatible with the current multi-criteria ecological evaluation of buildings. The course will acquaint the participants with the set requirements that the architect must follow during the process of designing a building which complies with Green Architecture rules. The course will be led by specialist from the international engineering office Buro Happold.
After this general presentation, the offers from Velux Polska, Procad oraz Qbiss by Trimo will be presented.
The course is part of the “Akcja-kreacja. Projektowanie na żywo” (Action-creation. Design live) designer happening. This is a special program created in order to acquaint the general public with the essence of the architect’s work and enable the most promising young teams of architects to present their professional skills during a competition.
The event is competence contest. The invited teams of young architects have 10 hours to design a building of defined location, program and function. The effects of their work will be presented in the form of presentations and models, after which they will be democratically judged by the public. The best project from Gdansk chosen in autumn will compete in the national finals held in the Museum of Architecture in Wroclaw in November 2010.
The venture will be covered by local and national media.
