Ponce Paz
Spanish independent curator and coordinator of artistic education programs, for young and emerging artists and for children as well, in cooperation with municipal cultural institutions, EU- sponsored programs and project spaces in Berlin and abroad. Recent positions include: Project coordinator of NODE CENTER’s Online Curatorial Program (2017-2018); Project coordinator at Agora Collective e.V. (2014-present); chief curator of berlinerpool arts network (2013-present). With a background in art history strongly intertwined with sociology and economic history, in her practice she researches on the collective context in which art is produced and mediated, with a focus on self-organization and the culture of cooperativism, departing from the Arendtian notion of “the common interest” (Welt-Bezug). She is interested in the symbols, collective archetypes and temporary needs bounding us together as a society. She works collaboratively across disciplines borrowing tools from literature, anthropology and architecture to develop very different formats in the crossovers between Art, the Social, Education and the realm of the Every day - from individual perception to the collective construction of meaning. In this sense, she places special emphasis on co-creation processes as identity formation mechanisms, and understands her curatorial role as an active mediation of thought-processes as communicative and creative environments open to the participation of artists and audiences. Collaboration being here a fluid territory of exchange, intercultural translation and empathy generator gathering heterogeneous backgrounds and sensitivities around the process of ideas formation meeting in the making of art - as a form of dialogue and as a technology of imagination, rather than an object for display.

She is founder and curator with Eran Eizenhamer of THE DREAMERS PLATFORM, for projects engaging dreams, public space & participation in art. Currently she is developing a pedagogical methodology of workshops for children inspired by Walter Benjamin (#Philopoetics). She works and lives in Berlin.
