Christopher Salter
Christopher Salter (born 1967, Beaumont) is an artist, professor of new media, technology and sensory research at Concordia University and co-director of Hexagram Network in Montreal. He studied philosophy, theater arts and computer music at Emory and Stanford Universities. He collaborated with Peter Sellars and William Forsyth / Ballet Frankfurt, and co-founded and led Sponge's artistic and research collective (1997-2003). His individual and collective works have been exhibited all over the world, including the Venice Biennial of Architecture, the Laboratoire Centro de Arte y Creacion Industriel (Gijon, Spain), the Ars Electronica (Linz), the Transmediale (Berlin), the Exit Festival (Maison des Arts Elektra (Montreal), Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (San Francisco), V2 (Rotterdam), SIGGRAPH 2001 (New Orleans) and the Exploratorium (San Francisco). He is the author of "Entangled: Technology and the Transformation of Performance” (MIT Press, 2010) and "Alien Agency” (MIT Press, 2015).
