Sculptor, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk.

 

Born on May 16th, 1954 in Bychawa, he died on April 12th, 2006 in Gdansk. A graduate of the High School of Fine Arts in Nałęczów and the Faculty of Sculpture at the State School of Fine Arts in Gdansk. He received his diploma in the studio of professor Franciszek Duszenka. In 1980 he started working at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, where he taught until his death.

 

In 2004, Zdzisław Pidek with Andrzej Sołyga and Marcin Roszczyk received Special Prize in the SARP Award of the Year 2004 competition for the monument foundation in the former Nazi death camp in Belżec.

 

In 2008, the CCA Łażnia in Gdańsk organized the exhibition entitled "We Remember" dedicated to the memory of the artist.
