30 MARCH 2012, AT 7 PM
C.3.3. is a project inspired by Paul Jamrozy’s experience working in Her Majesty’s Prison Reading on music projects with young offenders. Tracing the history of the location through to the present current political and social situation, the piece invokes the harsh realities of Victorian and modern day Britain.
Paul Jamrozy was co-architect of post-punk industrialists Test Dept formed in the decaying docklands of South London in the early eighties. Their infamous sonic assaults were regarded as a test of physical endurance that journeyed through the sonic pain threshold, producing large-scale projects in unusual venues. In their later years they concentrated their activities on working with new music technology, moving in the underground dance scene. This evolved into the wider digital diaspora of experimental sound artists and electronic practitioners.
