Panel discussion „Bioart: Between Science and Ethics is a part of Art&Science Meeting led by Monika Bakke PhD, artists: Oron Catts, Ionat Zurr and invited guests prof. Ryszard W. Kluszczyński, PhD, prof. Ewa Łojkowska, PhD i Maciej Ożóg, PhD are going to debate on bioethics, biotechnology and genetic engineering.
Oron Catts – artist, researcher, curator. Co-founder of Tissue Culture & Art Project by SymbioticA lab, part of University of Western Australia. He creates works of art using issues grown in an incubator.
prof. Ionat Zurr – arist and curator. Works at SymbioticA lab, part of University of Western Australia. Creates installations and performances using tissues grown in a lab.
prof. Ewa Łojkowska – PhD, dean of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG-MUG, head of Laboratory of Plant Protection and Biotechnology UG.
prof. Ryszard W. Kluszczyński – Phd, Professor at the University of Łódź and the Łódź Academy of Fine Arts. Artistic director of Art&Science Meeting Project, curator of Crude Life exhibition.
Maciej Ożóg – PhD theorist and new media art historian. Lecturer at University of Łódź Works on history and new media art theory, audio-visual culture, cyber culture, and informatics society.
Monika Bakke – PhD, lecturer at Philosophy Institute of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. She writes on modern aesthetics in post-humanistic gender and transcultural perspective, art critics and animal studies.
Panel discussion in English, will be translated simultaneously in Polish.
