INTRODUCTION TO THE THEORY OF NOISES. SOUNDS, ILLUSIONS AND HALLUCINATIONS

Curator: Daniel Muzyczuk

The aim of the lecture is to introduce the concept apparatus developed on the basis of cybernetics, which is used by the author to describe the art of the 20th century as far as literature, visual art and music are concerned. The pioneering theoreticians of noises are Jaques Attalie and Douglas Kahn. Their considerations, however, go beyond the sphere of sound only to a limited extent. Roman Bromboszcz’s research expands this field significantly. To some extent it is possible to apply the theory of noises to such senses as smell, taste and touch. The lecture is illustrated with slides, fragments of films and music compositions.
