Valerio Tricoli and Robert Piotrowicz met for the first time on stage during Musica Genera Festival 2008. The meeting resulted in the most interesting concert of the event. The concerts in January are the next phase of the cooperation of the sound artists. Tricoli and Piotrowicz’s music is stretched between poles: between the pure nature of human voice and the analogue-generated complex electronic signal; between non-instrumental musique concrète and the thick texture of physical sound. Tricoli uses audio equipment usually associated with a recording studio – the reel-to-reel Revox recorder, while Piotrowicz focuses on creating intensive, variable, resonating synthesiser-generated complex structures. Together, they build an organic whole, bringing to mind associations with a composition rather than improvised music – a body of music deeply emotional and dynamic, complex in its contents and form.
