Paul Sermon is a British artist. Awarded Prix Ars Electronica (1991). As a resident artist at the Media Art & Technology Centre (ZKM) in Karlsruhe he created a video-conference ISDN “Telematic Vision” (1993). He obtained Sparkey Award at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig. Sermon constructed interactive telematic installations “Telematic Encounter” (1996) and “The Tables Turned” (1997) for the Ars Electronica Centre in Linz and the Media Museum in Karlsruhe. Between the years 1997 and 2001 he was Professor at Art and Design University in Linz. Since 2000 he has been Professor at Salford University where his artistic research focuses mainly on immersive and expanded telematic environments.
