LAZNIA 1 2014 - CONCERTS: BIOSPHERE / INCITE
CONCERTS
BIOSPHERE
25TH OF APRIL, AT 8 P.M.

Biosphere is the main recording name of Geir Jenssen, a Norwegian musician who has released a notable catalogue of ambient electronic music.
He is well known for his "ambient techno" and "arctic ambient" styles, his use of music loops, and peculiar samples from sci-fi sources.
His track "Novelty Waves" was used for the 1995 campaign of Levi's. His 1997 album Substrata is generally seen as one of the all time classic ambient albums [1].
Biosphere regularly performs live during electronic music festivals and in clubs throughout Europe and various other locales around the world. Live performances usually consist of Jenssen performing improvisations or variations on newer tracks on a laptop while video art is projected behind him; for example, full-screen video art was projected in his Picturehouse cinema tour in April 2006. Although these performances are rarely tied specifically to a recent album release, the uptempo material from the Bleep and Microgravity/Patashnik era is rarely featured in Biosphere performances.

INCITE
26TH OF APRIL 2014, AT 8 P.M.

unorthodox danceable eye-catching audio-visual electronics
Founded 2002 in Hamburg, the award-winning duo is criss-crossing art and club worlds. incite/ combines its futuristic electronic music and outstanding visuals to an immersive synesthetic adventure, complex and inspiring. A style of their own - somewhere between electro, glitch, dubstep and industrial - the duo's fragmented synth excursions and danceable noises are based on an extraordinary bass foundation.
The tightly synchronized greyscale HD-visuals oscillate between abstraction and semi-narration, inciting perception and awareness. incite/ has produced five major audio-visual live sets until today: iconicity (2004 - 2006), mindpiercing (2007 - 2009), dualicities (2009 - 2010), zoom studies (2010 - 2011) and holistic glue (premiered in fall 2012) and is already working on a further one. The duo already played many international festivals for media art, new music, electro, video art, rock and industrial, bridging the gap between digital art events and advanced club culture.
The electronic musicians and visual artists Kera Nagel and André Aspelmeier aka incite/ were awarded several times for their productions, most recently the Qwartz Award 2012 (Paris - Qwartz Dancefloor) and the Visual Music Award 2012 (Frankfurt - Visual Music Live Contest) and at the WRO Biennale (Wrocław) in 2007 and 2011.
