SLSAeu conference - June 2018 Copenhagen

Dear colleagues and friends,

we have now updated the ‘green’ SLSA conference website and CFP and extended the deadline until January 18!

So take advantage to suggest streams, panels  and other academic or artistic contribution relevant to your own research, spread this information via your networks, and distribute the new CFP.

We have the privilege to host the European conference of the Society for Literature, Science and the Arts (SLSA) at the University of Copenhagen from June 13 to 16 2018 with the topic of GREEN (un-green & prismatic welcome) that can be interpreted in the broadest sense according to your discipline.

The event is organised conjunctly by the Department of Arts and Cultural Studiesthe Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences/Medical Museion and (OU)VERT.The main conference site will be UCPH’s Southern Humanities campus.

The conference has got further support from institutions and foundations, especially from Novo Nordisk and Carlsberg, and both Goethe Institut and Institut Français will grant support as well. We have been able to confirm additional evening events with Medical Museion and the Statens Museum for Kunst for a ‘green’ Friday evening, so we are looking at excellent conditions to welcome our colleagues.

For those who are not yet familiar with the SLSA:

The SLSAeu is the sister organisation of the international USA-based Society for Literature, Science and the Arts. It welcomes colleagues in the humanities, the social sciences, the arts, all fields of science, medicine, engineering, computer sciences as well as independent scholars, artists and scientists, and explicitly promotes inter- and trans-disciplinary exchange between literature, the arts, the natural sciences, medicine and technology.

The SLSAeu Conference 2018 is centered on the theme of green, providing a resolutely cross-disciplinary platform to explore one of the most pervasive and broadest tropes of our times. Alongside this central theme, the organizers also welcome provocatively un green and prismatic proposals from experts in all academic disciplines and professional fields.

The 4-5 keynote speakers will be announced in January.

Looking forward to your submissions and suggestions!
