Jurors that will decide which artists are awarded prizes funded by the National Audiovisual Institute and the Marshal of Pomeranian Voivodship Mieczysław Struk at this year`s edition of IN OUT Festival are:
Michał Chaciński - film critic and cultural journalist who published in „Variety“, Gazeta Wyborcza“ daily and „Polityka“ weekly, among others. He has been awarded for film criticism by the Polish Film Institute in 2010 (for his television work), and has been the recipient of Krzysztof Metrak Award in 2003 (for his print publications). He has been the host, screenwriter and producer of over 600 television shows, mostly concerning cultural and artistic events, with special focus on film. He has served as Artistic Director of Gdynia Film Festival 2011-13.
Mark- Paul Mayer - leading researcher and contributor to the EYE Film Institute in Amsterdam. He is also the curator responsible for storing movies, their renovation, storing policy and special projects. He is a curator of Filmmuseum Biennial and lecturer at the Master's course for Protection and Presentation of Moving Image at the University of Amsterdam. Mark- Paul graduated philosophy at the University and photography at the Academy of Photography in Amsterdam, he was the editor of film magazine called SKRIEN. He is the co-editor of the book "Restoration of Motion Picture Film" (Oxford 2000), and co-author of a number of DVD productions. He wrote and directed several films and videos. At the University of Aegina he co-created and installation „DVD Breaking News“ (2003) and in 2005 he was the curator of the exhibition "Kino- Illusion" about the illusion of movement in cinema.
Łukasz Skąpski- Associate Professor, born in 1958
Currently working as Head of the Photography Faculty at Painting and New Media Department,
specialization: painting, photography, multimedia at Fine Arts Academy in Szczecin.
He is a photographer, painter, creator of installations, objects and video. Skąpski exhibits and presents his works since 1982 in Poland and other countries. Between 1988-1991 he lived in France, Germany and China. Time he spent in Beijing resulted in the artist's interest in social issues and politics.
In 2001 he was awarded the Rouse Kent Public Art Award for execution of the Via Luc Continens, the best public contract in southern England in 2000. Since 2001, he is a founding member of Azorro Supergroup, which plays a significant part in the history of Polish video art. In recent years, the main emphasis of his work is put in topics related to social issues and politics.
