LKW GALLERY – AUTOART

The international project AutoArt brings along the active and creative ways to spend free time for children, teenagers and adults. The LKW Gallery itself – the object, the lorry stuck under the flyover – draws attention to the symbolic boundary dividing the Lower Town from the rest of Gdańsk, yet at the same time creating an opportunity to cross it. AutoArt project’s goal is to “move” the lorry through artistic creation. AutoArt is art created inside the vehicle, but also the creation of individuals, or, last but not least, OUT(o)art – the coming out. For the school year we have a program for groups “Todos Juntos” comprising the components of civic education and the introduction of modern culture. Within the AutoArt club there will be sculptural workshops “Mirror Error” and an outdoor play “Scavenger Hunt. Art”. Two festivities – “The End of the summer” and “AutoArt Finnisage” – will be an opportunity for the presentation of work and having fun together. The workshops are run by recognized artists of theatre, dance, music, visual arts, media, and handcraft, and teachers representing alternative education.
