The exhibition presented the effects of the meetings the artist had with pupils and teachers of the SOSW – the Special Education Centre No. 2 in Gdańsk – during two years. Committing himself to the organisation of art workshops for youths, Lipnicki witnessed the educational process being imposed on the psychically disabled. He observed how the school became the field of adjusting the “other” to the commonly accepted social norms. The works were presented in the form of a maze. The viewer, going around inside, was confronted with the installations documenting the exercises performed by the disabled pupils during school classes. Their purpose was the correction of the pupils’ behaviour in terms of motor activity, hygiene, sexual behaviour or interpersonal communication – the laborious process of the whitewashing of the otherness.
