In the series of her most recent works, Alicja Żebrowska presented the same model talking about her own experiences as a person who had undergone the sex-change operation, or hiding behind a mask of cultural images and artistic traditions. In the series of infachromes the staged, stylised representations referred to the cultural fantasies about gender and sexuality. The figure emerging from the aesthetically refined images did not answer the question: What was the object of creation – only the image or also the identity?
