Laznia Centre for Contemporary Art

KakofoNIKT is a music collective from Poznań that experiments with the conventions of various aesthetics such as industrial, noise or free improv, including elements of sound installation and performance art. The distinctive feature of the group is the diverse and mobile acoustic and electronic instruments. The purpose of the band is to calibrate the listener's perception to the channel of different consciousness - experimenting with the show's timing (as in the Responsorium project, which started at 5AM) or literally with the audience's attention (during Dream Machine sleep concert series.) For them, the sound becomes a borderline point of experience. The work with the venue is an essential element of the group's functioning. The concerts mainly take place in unusual places, such as squats, underground corridors, devastated buildings, abandoned temples and forests, although the group does not avoid club venues.
