The objects installed at the exhibition, 69/149 Mandala and TV Mandala, balanced on the border of illusion and reality. Constructed by means of the use of integrally combined media – photography and articles of daily use – enabled viewers to notice their totally new contents and features. The relation of the flat, though seemingly three-dimensional, image with an object having its extension in depth is a kind of trap for our senses. Our expectation as to what we see changes, and we delve deeper, trying to go through the border just to realise that this depth is but an illusion. Bąkowski, through exploring the common area of the two domains, directed our thoughts into unknown spheres which surprise us, though we sense them somehow every day. Both objects encouraged viewers to contemplate the invisible.
