The event’s program was created with the idea of giving the participants a possibility of development within music and theatre work, and the idea of acquainting local environments with new creative music approaches yet unknown or slightly known in Poland, presented by artists from Poland, Denmark and France nad Tuva.
All the events included in the programme aim to give a multi aspect sight on the possibilities of human voice and sound in general.

Me, myself and I, a group from Wrocław, makes an incredible music out of voices.
There are three of them and they do almost everything with their voices. 2 vocalists and a human beatbox champion search for new ways of sound’s articulation to go beyond the borders of musical styles and forms.
The workshop by Me, myself and I invites to study the musical qualities present in human voice, develop the musical imagination and check out what of an unlimited instrument the human voice can be.

2.Musical – theatrical works “The sounds of imagination” by Olga Szymula (PL) is an experiment on the borders of theatre and music.
October – December 2008
First meeting – 11 Oct. at 12 p.m.
Final demonstration – 20 Oct at 7 p.m.

Olga Szymula: My personal works are in the field of development in musical and theatrical works. The search for my own way led me through a number of musical and theatrical projects in Poland, Denmark and Hungary.
All of my experiences lead me to the borders of music and theatre. This is the field I try to discover and penetrate.
The “Sounds of Imagination” is an individual idea for theatrical and musical acts. The aim of the program is to create a group of musicians and actors who – by the means of common work and using varied techniques and improvisation – will penetrate the field between music and theatre.
Work will last for two months and its effects will be presented on a final demonstration.

3.Sainkho Namtchylak (Tuva) workshops
Traditional vocal techniques, guttural vocal
Sainkho Namtchylak is one of the most interesting avant-garde vocalists. She works on the borderlines of all music forms like for instance ethnic music of Siberia with special vocal techniques including throat or overtone singing, jazz, electronics, experimental. As a result it is very difficult to put her creative activity into any definition. Sainkho and her unique and extraordinary voice, her personal, original music and great charisma go beyond the frames of musical forms and expression.
Sainkho seems to be an ideal example of an artist for whom the freedom of expression and an incredible musical imagination create the basis of her own music.

KlangKarate's members, students of The Royal Academy of Music in Arhus, play improvised music. In their work they use Soundpainting, a musical form yet unknown in Poland.
Soundpainting is a universal live composing sign language created by New York composer Walter Thompson for musicians, dancers, actors, poets, and visual artists working in the medium of structured improvisation. It is a tool used in live performance which explores the interdisciplinary potential of composition through improvisatory methods.
The Conductor/Sound Painter asks each performer to improvise in the way she or he is normally used to. Then it goes further by stretching the genre boundaries of their "instrument".
It requires the artists to step away from what is familiar and predictable and to commit themselves to each expressive act without knowing where it would lead.
The artist is being challenged to create a new material under conductor's direction, instead of relying on a script, score, or a model.
Soundpainting is an essential method for engaging people of all ages, ability levels, and art forms in the creative process. Unlike teaching how to create within a single style, Soundpainting develops the creative voices of students through an array of structural parameters allowing for an individual choice and stylistic parameters. When using the composer/conductor or "Soundpainter" as a teacher the innate creativity of participants is drawn out and developed constructively by way of the gestural choices of the Soundpainter. This enables each group to express its own character in an experiential learning format.
The extraordinary character of improvised music lies in its readiness for continuous change, for abandoning what seems good and well known. Instead, it wants to go further and explore the new and unknown realms of sound …
The big orchestra together with KlangKarate group meets for 4 days of intensive work on exploring the Soundpainting’s vocabulary. The international orchestra will round up its work with a concert demonstration.
