The exhibition of drawings and 3D models by Teresa Klaman belonged to the field of the discourse about the city and the symbolism of the metropolis, so important in modern and post-modern culture. The system of reference to her works was built by the problems of the habitat – the settled area on the one hand, and representational architecture on the other. The title Metropolis situated this exhibition in the futuristic tradition of Fritz Lang’s film and within the urban-planning utopias of the “brave new world”. At the same time, the topos of metropolis was measured here by means of the experience of the 20th century, which witnessed glass houses turning into stone.
