Mirjam Wirz lives and works in Zurich. She graduated from ZHdK – photography in 2001 and transdisciplinary studies in 2014. Inbetween Mirjam Wirz was working in Vilnius and the region focusing on changes in post-Socialist cities and its cultures. Afterwards her practices retained interest in transitory or ephemeric places in her ongoing researches of the South American street subcultures. Her practices embrace photography, publishing, storytelling, and lectures, typically engaging shorter or longer term collaborations within the local context of her work. Mirjam Wirz has participated in group shows internationally, including the institutions of Museo del Chopo, Mexico City (2016), Musée La Gaîté Lyrique, Paris (2013), Contemporary Art Centre, Vilnius (2009).
