Świeszewski Maciej
Maciej Świeszewski - born in 1950 in Sopot. He graduated from the Faculty of Painting at the State Institute of Art in Gdańsk. He graduated with honors in 1976. He then worked at the university as an assistant - first with Professor Maksymilian Kasprowicz, then with Professor Jerzy Zabłocki. In 1982 he leaves for the British Council scholarship to London. In 1984 he worked at the Louvre at the renovation of the paintings of great French painters of the XIXth century. In 1990, at the invitation of Günter Grass, he became a member of the Daniel Chodowiecki's Board of Trustees in Berlin at the Akademie der Künste. Between 1990 and 1993 he was Dean of the Faculty of Painting and Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Since 1997, vice president of the Zachęta Society of the Friends of Fine Arts. Since 1999 he has been working in the PGS Program Board in Sopot. In 2000 he became a full professor. Associated with the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk.
