THE COLD SHOWER OF POLITICS. OBJECTIFICATION IN CONTEMPORARY ART AND ITS POTENTIAL CRITICISM

For some time now we have witnessed unexpected invasions of conservative ideology into the area of art. Analogous confrontations have made for a recurring theme in art history, yet it is worth it to focus on potential criticism of such interventions in contemporary Polish art. As art today exists within the frames of capitalism, a deeper background for the interactions between art and politics is provided by the space of production with its overwhelming presence of goods and the phenomenon of objectification. We will analyse how contemporary Polish art reacts to this neoliberal entanglement.
